2015/09 Kruger National Park
The 2015 IPS director's meeting was in Madagascar, and so we decided to spend a week in Kruger NP on our way over. We flew directly into Skukuza, rented a car, and spent 6 days exploring the far SE corner of the park. We spent our first two nights in a safari tent in Lower Sabie, two nights in a bungalow in Skukuza, and then one more night in the safari tent in Lower Sabie. We went on one walking safari at each location, seeing a lion near Lower Sabie and a rhino at very close range from Skukuza. We also had great luck during our drives - I think we saw a hyena and a leopard at least once each day, and we even saw wild dogs on our final day (although only for about 15 seconds before they ran off). As usual, Kruger was fantastic!
