2014/10 Sequoia National Park
Lindsey had the Monday of Columbus Day off from work, so we decided to leave on Thursday evening for a long weekend in Sequoia National Park. After an overnight in Visalia, CA on the way up, we had three nights to camp in the Lodgepole campground. In the past, we have mainly spent our time hiking around the giant forest admiring the trees and looking for bears and other wildlife. This time we decided to spend a full day hiking to the summit of Alta Peak in order to get a different perspective on the park. It ended up being a fantastic hike, and we still had quite a bit of time to spend in the giant forest on our other days (and we did see two bears!)
