2013/10 Peru

We made a fairly short visit to the Peruvian Amazon as part of the interim board meeting for the IPS. Based on travel logistics related to Cassie and Jay's wedding, we ended up in Peru a couple of days early, and so we spent those nights at Bello Horizonte before transferring over for four nights at Inkaterra with the IPS. At both locations, we spent most of our time either on the river (Rio Madre de Dios) or hiking (mainly near Lago Sandoval in the Reserva Nacional Tambopata). Overall, we saw quite a bit of wildlife and there were several sections of relatively untouched old-growth forest. Also, due to a scheduling mistake we ended up in one of the luxury suites at Inkaterra - definitely a step above what we're accustomed to!
